What this site is

AlternativesIndex publishes independent research comparing software products. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting as an agent for the products we write about. Any trademark or product name belongs to its owner and is used only to identify the product being discussed.

Our research is information, not advice

Comparison tables, ratings, and switcher reports are research aids. They are not professional, legal, financial, or procurement advice, and they are not a warranty that any product will fit your organisation. Pricing, licensing, and features change frequently and are controlled by the vendors, not by us. Verify anything you intend to rely on directly with the vendor before you commit.

Your account

Accurate details

Give us a real email address you control. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

Keep it secure

Use a password of at least 10 characters and do not share your credentials.

One person, one account

Do not create accounts in bulk or automate account creation.

Acceptable use

You must not:

• attempt to break, overload, scrape at scale, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its database;
• use automated tools to defeat the human checks on our login and registration forms;
• submit content you do not have the right to share, or that is unlawful, defamatory, or deliberately misleading;
• submit promotional copy, affiliate links, or astroturfing on behalf of a vendor while presenting it as an independent user experience;
• impersonate another person, or misrepresent your relationship with a vendor.

We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these rules, and we may remove any contribution at our discretion.

What you contribute

You keep ownership of anything you submit. By submitting it you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, edit for length and clarity, and display that contribution on the site and in related summaries. You confirm you have the right to grant that licence.

We moderate contributions before they appear. Moderation is an editorial decision, not a promise of accuracy, and we may decline or remove a contribution without giving a reason.

Vendor and representative disclosure

If you work for a vendor you are writing about, say so when you submit. Undisclosed vendor participation is a breach of these terms.

Third-party links

We link to vendor websites and other sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, pricing, or practices.

Availability and changes

The site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it, including the ranking methodology, at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that any data will be preserved.

Limits of our liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity, arising from your use of the site or from a decision you make based on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending your access

You may stop using the site at any time and can ask us to delete your account. We may suspend access if these terms are broken.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
